Multifocal Intra-ocular Lenses
Monofocal lenses are usually implanted after cataract surgery. These lenses only correct distant vision and you will need reading glasses for near work.
Multifocal Intraocular lenses (MFIOL) are implanted to make you more spectacle independent so you can have good distant, intermediate (computer work) and near vision (reading books) without the use of spectacles.
