Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL’s)

ICL is a lens that is implanted behind the iris (colour part of the eye) to correct very high degrees of myopia (short-sightedness) and astigmatism.

ICL’s is an option for patients who wish to be spectacle independent, but their corneas are too thin for laser surgery.

ICL’s also delivers exceptional visual outcomes. This surgery does require general anaesthesia as its delicate surgery often referred to as “butterfly surgery”.
